G'day lads! Has been a while since my last post. The past few months has been a bit of a roller coaster ride. I lost my job in Sydney, went back to Malaysia and Hong Kong for 3 weeks and moved to Melbourne. Haven't been in the right mind set to do much.The past few months (since I got back to OZ in July) I have been struggling to get a full time job. Most of time was spent on bumming around (discovering Melbourne), job search and interviews. Even though I did manage to score some freelance work and got myself involved with a couple of employment agencies, it's still not enough. Need a stable income!
Anyway, I am working full time now. It's with PMP Digital. They have a ridiculous list of clients but at the moment, I'm working at one of the company's client's site which is The Good Guys (for those who don't know about The Good Guys, it's a store similar to Harvey Norman). Here, I do only creative work, passing on the artwork to mac operators once my creative gets the thumbs up from the boss/client.
It's a leap from my previous job with Media Merchants. Over there, I used to have to do everything, from creative to mac operator. To be honest, it's kinda tedious to do price changes and check the bloody 2mm gap on everything everyday. It's sad that they prefer operators than designers. I am confident enough to say that the artworks I produced at Media Merchants were good. Come to think about it now, it's sort of a blessing in disguise. I mean look at it this way, I was forced to pull the finger out and move to Melbourne, had a couple of months break, visited friends and family in Malaysia and Hong Kong and now working with one of the biggest agency in Victoria!
