Traitor

Directed by Jeffrey Nachmanoff, Written by Jeffrey Nachmanoff & Steve Martin, Executive Producer Ashok Amritraj, Producer Don Cheadle & David Hoberman, Original Music Mark Kilian

Synopsis :
Samir Horn (Don Cheadle), a devout American Muslim, and a former U.S. Army Special Forces expert in explosives, has been mysteriously showing up on the FBI's radar for being in the area of terrorist bombings. FBI agent Roy Clayton (Guy Pearce) heads up a task force investigation to link Horn to these bombings. Clayton is able to question Horn after he was arrested in Yemen for attempting to sell explosives to an Islamic terrorist group. The terrorists break out of prison and take Horn with them. With the help of Max Archer (Neal McDonough), Clayton is able to link Horn to a bombing of an American Consulate in Nice, and a failed police raid to capture his top terrorist contact in London. Clayton has been pursuing Horn around the world and has tracked him to the United States. Clayton must capture Horn before he strikes his next target.

My 2 cents : One of the best movie about terrorism. Apart from The Kingdom with Jamie Foxx, this one actually looks at terrorism at a different angle. The plot is highly unpredictable, it goes at a smooth pace, so there isnt much of a boring moment in the movie. The writters did a good job by feeding the audience bits and pieces of information but not over feeding. Just enough to keep you understand where the movie is heading but also keeps you guessing what's gonna happen next, all at once. Those who like movies like this, I would suggest you give this a shot. But be warned, dont expect this to be a popcorn or one of those action-packed film. You go for the story line and acting in this one... not CGI and pretty girls with big boobs!

Nice Shot!

I'm not a big fan of basketball but I personally think this is an amazing shot. Very clever... !

New toy

Just thought I'd let you guys know, it has always been my intention to get myself a tattoo machine, get back into the tattoo industry. For those who dont know, I used to do tatts, not a great artist but I have done quite a few years ago.

Anyway, told a friend about my plans the other day and it appears he's got the full set of machine at home and he's not using it. So, he gave it to me. YAY! He even offered his own skin / body to be my canvas. Thanks Ritchie for having the confidence in me. I dont think I will do any on him, yet, I need to do some practise and get used to the machine first. I dont wanna screw up. You dont get second chance when it comes to tattoos. If you screw up, you're not only screwing up the artwork you are doing for that person but you are screwing up your reputation of being an artist. I think I should be professional and only accept jobs where I know I can do a good job.

So, for up coming months, I will try do more sketches and practise on prosthetic skins where I can easily get online. Keep check out the blog, I will post artworks when I get some done. Till then...

Being 31...

Howdy everyone. Had my 31st birthday celebration couple of weeks ago and I must say, I had a blast. Its good o know that I have a close circle of friends here who actually remembers and do care. Its a nice warm feeling.

The celebration actually started few days before my actual birthday.

Started on Friday the 9th, me and some went to a restaurant called Hurricane at Bondi. Their known for their Ribs. I can easily say its the best ribs I'v had. YUM! After that, we went to the pub for drinks and had a pretty good laugh. Thanks The Doussis for organising the fun night and thanks The Browns, The Fletchers and Mr David Clark for being there.

Saturday, 10th, I went to the opening night of The Music Festival at Hyde park with another group of friends. They had a picnic at the park with tens of thousands of people. There were gigs everywhere, Jazz stage, Trance, Samba etc.

Sunday, breakfast with The Punts, Georgie Pie & Cliford Irwinus... (sorry Clif, I just have to do that, lol) and I got a pressie. :) Sweet! How thoughtful was the gift!

Monday, the actual day of my birthday, i start receiving birthday cards, phone calls, message, emails and dinner invites. My mom messaged me, my dad texted me and my sis sent me a message on FB, RH called, Richard Seal texted and many more. Simply sweet. The Punts called and invited me over for BBQ, at first I thought its gonna be just a simple dinner, but it turned out they have a cake and a present for me as well... my oh my.. I feel special now!

Tuesday, dinner after work with Christopher, went to this nice posh restaurant, had a nice dinner and I'm not gonna mention how much the dinner was... but I can say, its not cheap. The food was fine dining at its best, without a doubt. And yeah, nice champagne too.

Well, there you go. Here's my little birthday celebration. Thank you to those who make this a fun and enjoyable week. Its good to know that I do have a close circle of friends here even though I'v only been living here for 4 years. Love you all!!! MWAH!

First week in at Media Merchants

Hey guys. Just thought I'd post an update in relation to the new job. Has been 1 week since I joined Media Merchants and everything is working out really well. I'm having a good time working here. It feels good to be working in a normal studio environment again. No more unnecessary pressure from stupid managements. Everyone here is very friendly and we all work as a team. Everyone offers help, there's no such thing as "its not my job". The occasional goofing around, then back to work, occasional drink at the pub on Friday lunch if we are not busy is great. Couldnt ask for more now, could we?

The studio itself is kinda cool. I like the open plan idea. With music playing softly in the background, its great. This would be the same kinda mood I will have in my own studio. And oh, I get internet connection here. After working in Generic Publication, I do appreciate what I have now. This is fun.

The only thing i can complain abut working here is I have to wake up earlier than usual. Takes me an hour to get to work. Catching the train is ok but the walk is a bit far. Good for exercise though. I'm now thinking of getting the motorbike license so I can ride to work.

Anyway, that's all for now... shal write more if there's anything worth mentioning. Till then...

NYE 2008 in Bangkok

Hey there. Got the opportunity to visit Bangkok for a few days at the end of 2008. Spent NYE at Bangkok. Its a really good trip and I have fun. Its amazing how simple the lifestyle is in Bangkok. Even though its a big city, signs of poverty is very clear. Everything is really cheap. One thing that really amazes me is that everyone is so polite, well mannered and soft spoken. Hardly met anyone raises their voices or anyone misbehaving on the streets. They might not be educated but they sure do behave like they do. Anyway, check out some of the pix I took.....

Sawadi Karp??? LOL. Even Ronald McDonald greets in Thai!

Thailand!

Wait til I shoot you with my CoolPix!

The Heritage Bangkok. Its new... thanks to Christopher for organising the hotel.

The hotel room. Funky? Yes! Its a nice size room. Very stylish.

Hmm... Christopher, someone said you look like Fred Durst from Limp Bizkit. Keep Rollin' Baby!

Hawkin it in Chinatown!

Liu Bok, a friend since secondary school has been living in Bangkok for at least 5 years. He took some time to show me around Bangkok. And yeah, he took me to Chinatown for some seafood dinner. Cost him a fair bit but the food was really good. Thanks bro... i will have to visit again, will give you another opportunity to buy me dinner again... lol!

Hawkin it again... !

Local graffiti.

Take a bow!

Fred, sorry I mean Christopher, deep in thoughts. lol.

Day market. Night market. This place is just market galore. I LOVE MARKETS!

Toot Toot! Not the sound, but this is what they are called.

11am? way too early for business. The city only comes to life after 12.30pm. SO take a chill pill and relax.

Thats all folks. Actually there are heaps more pix, just that I'm lazy to post everything. This will suffice and I'm pretty sure will give you guys an idea what a great time I have in Bangkok. Thanks Christopher and Liu Bok for making this trip an amazing and fun trip for me. I will definitely be back! Korp Khun Karp (means thank you).

Christmas 2008 in Penang

I had a great time hanging out with you guys back in Penang. Thank you for being there and taking the time to hang out and catch up. Look forward to my next trip (god knows when!... lol)

Check out some pix taken while hanging out with the boys! (and girl... hehe, sorry Helena)

A penang 'mamak' restaurant called Line Clear (a street slang which translate as "All Good"). Honestly, i would call it hawker rather than restaurant cos it's really filthy. But what can I say, the food is good. This place's been around for decades.

Arthur and his food (check out his greedy grin!). Arthur came all the way to Penang just to hang out with me. Havent seen him for at least a year and its really good to catch up and hang out again. Thanks bud! I had a ball!

Yeah? What??.

Such a name for a shop. FourSkin? Or Foreskin? Lol.

Daniel aka Demo and Helena at Segafredo. Just chillin'!

William, one of my oldest and closest friend in Penang. I know him when I was 10. Ages ago.

Chun Woei, ex lecturer, now venturing into Tattoo art. Hmm... :)

Family gathering... lots of them? There are actually more. This is only half of the extended family. People are shocked when they see us in full force!
